I recently used TransferGo to send 3,500€ (worth about 153,500₺) to an international consultancy firm. After the payment, I started having doubts about the company’s reliability and contacted TransferGo customer service to ask for assistance. Unfortunately, they told me that they could not help and that refunds were not possible on their end.
Later, I exercised my contractual right of withdrawal directly with the consultancy firm, and they agreed to refund my payment. However, instead of refunding directly in euros, they sent the refund back through TransferGo using the IBAN I had originally used, assuming it was my personal bank IBAN.
When the refund was processed, I discovered that TransferGo returned 153,500₺ instead of the actual euro equivalent. At today’s exchange rate, I should have received around 161,000₺, but TransferGo acted as if they had recalled the transaction themselves and deducted the difference. This effectively resulted in an unfair loss on my part and raises serious concerns about transparency and fairness in how refunds are handled.
I find this situation completely unacceptable. TransferGo must correct this mistake and pay me the missing balance according to the correct euro-to-lira conversion. Customers should not suffer financial losses when refunds are processed.
After this experience, I have lost trust in TransferGo and will never use the platform again. I urge others to be extremely cautious when transferring large sums.
