If Toki muted you in a voice room without warning, try these steps to restore your ability to speak:
Check if the mute was applied by the room host;
• In many voice rooms, hosts or moderators can mute users manually
• This can happen if:
– The room has speaking limits
– The host is controlling who can talk
– There are too many speakers at once
• Wait a moment to see if the host unmutes you
Request permission to speak;
• Look for a “Raise Hand” or “Request to Speak” button
• Hosts often require users to request speaking access before unmuting
Check your microphone permissions;
• Go to Phone Settings → Apps → Toki → Permissions
• Make sure Microphone access is enabled
• Restart the app and rejoin the room
Leave and rejoin the voice room;
• Exit the room and join again
• Sometimes muting is a temporary room setting that resets when you reenter
Contact the room host or moderators;
• Send a chat message asking if you were muted intentionally
• Some rooms mute users to maintain order during discussions
Report the issue if it seems like a system error;
• Go to Settings → Help / Feedback in the Toki app
• Explain that you were muted without warning and ask them to check the issue.
