The North Face Mountain Light Futurelight Logo Peeled Off After 4 Years
I purchased the Mountain Light Futurelight Triclimate jacket from The North Face four years ago with great excitement, trusting in both the brand’s quality and its reputation as a premium outdoor label. Unfortunately, the inner layer’s printed logo has begun peeling off letter by letter over recent months. As of now, I’ve already lost the “n,” “f,” and “a,” and the “c” is hanging by a thread. I’m literally walking around with “The Orth Ce” printed on my jacket—and at this rate, the entire logo will disappear in a few months.
This jacket is marketed as built for harsh weather and rugged conditions, and I bought it believing it would hold up long-term, even beyond the 2-year standard warranty. Given the brand's premium pricing, I expected The North Face to back its products beyond just the warranty period—at least through goodwill review or product support.
For the first time ever, I reached out to customer service hoping for a helpful resolution. To my disappointment, their only response was that they couldn’t help because the 2-year warranty had expired. No offer to inspect, no attempt to assist—just a flat denial.
I didn’t expect a refund or immediate replacement. What I did expect from The North Face was acknowledgment of a clear quality issue and a willingness to find a reasonable solution. This experience has shaken my trust in the brand, and I hope The North Face reconsiders how it handles issues from long-term, loyal customers who believe in their name. I’m sharing this publicly so others can make an informed decision before investing in what should be a durable premium product.
