When you use Temu to buy something, the site does not directly access your bank account.

It instead uses safe third-party payment gateways, like credit card companies or digital wallets, to handle payments. This keeps your financial information safe.

But worries have been made about how Temu handles data privacy. The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission brought up possible threats to users' personal information on Temu in May 2023.

This happened after problems with its sister app, Pinduoduo, which was taken off of Google Play because some copies had malware.

In June 2024, the Arkansas Attorney General also sued Temu, saying that the company used dishonest business methods and had malware problems. Wikipedia

Because of these worries, you should keep an eye on your financial records on a regular basis to make sure there aren't any unauthorized transactions.
