I can no longer access my Telegram account on my Android phone. My account is linked to a Nigerian phone number with the country code +234, but I have completely lost access to this number, so I cannot receive the login codes that are sent by SMS or phone call. Because of this, I have been unable to use my account since September 9, 2025. I have a backup email address registered with my Telegram account, but the system does not allow me to log in using this email. I also have two-step verification enabled and I still remember my password correctly, yet I cannot get past the login stage because the verification code is only sent to the old phone number that I no longer control. I contacted Telegram support previously and tried again today, but I have not received any response so far. I have not made any premium subscription or in-app payments on this account. My expectation is that Telegram support allows me to use my registered email address as a secure method to receive the login code and verify my identity, so that I can link a new phone number and regain access to my account without needing the old line.
