I am writing because I can no longer access my Telegram account on my Android phone. My account is linked to an old phone number to which I have completely lost access, so I am unable to receive the login codes that are sent via SMS or call. Although I have a backup email address registered with my Telegram account, the system does not allow me to log in using this email. I also have two-step verification activated, and I still remember my password correctly, but despite this, I cannot get past the login stage because the verification code is only sent to the old phone number. I contacted Telegram support about this issue, but have not received any response so far. As a result, I have been unable to use my account since September 9, 2025. My expectation from Telegram support is to allow me to link and use my registered email address as a secure method to receive the login code and verify my identity, so that I can access my account again without needing the old phone number.
