Starbucks Caramel Macchiato Had No Caramel Flavor
On June 25, 2026, at around 3:00 p.m., I purchased a large Caramel Macchiato at the Starbucks location in Ataköy Galleria, Istanbul. The drink had no caramel flavor at all. It tasted like watered-down milk, with virtually no coffee or caramel flavor. When I brought this to the attention of an employee, I was simply told that the drink contained caramel and was sent away.
After taking another sip and confirming that the problem remained, I returned to the counter again. This time, a male employee said the issue was not his responsibility. I requested a refund for the defective drink, but my request was denied, and I was only offered a replacement. To avoid further arguing, I accepted the exchange and received a mocha instead. Unfortunately, it was even worse. It did not even include whipped cream, and the milk tasted extremely thin, making me believe nonfat milk had been used. Overall, both beverages were bland and disappointing. Even though I paid extra for the large size, I could not finish half of the drink, and I later experienced stomach pain.
I am disappointed by both the poor quality of the beverages and the staff's handling of my complaint. I do not believe the $5 I paid was justified for the product and service I received. Because of this negative experience, I am requesting a full refund.
