My 2023 Skoda Octavia Developed a Serious 48V System Failure at Only 47,000 KM

While using my 2023 Skoda Octavia with only 47,000 kilometers on it — a vehicle that had been completely problem-free until now and had always received all maintenance on time — the car suddenly displayed a V48 system fault and a start-stop error warning today. The screen warned me not to continue driving the vehicle, so I had no choice but to call a tow truck and have the car transported to Bursa Neskar Automotive.
At the authorized service center, I was informed that the vehicle’s warranty had just recently expired. Although the exact cause of the malfunction has not yet been fully explained, I was already warned that the repair could involve extremely high costs. Experiencing such a serious issue in a relatively new, accident-free vehicle that is only 2–3 years old and has not even undergone its first inspection was extremely shocking and disappointing for us. At the same time, after seeing countless similar complaints and comments online describing this issue as a chronic defect, we deeply regret purchasing this vehicle and have completely lost trust in the brand.
Previously, we used a Toyota vehicle for 10 years and never experienced any issue requiring service visits other than routine maintenance. In comparison, facing such a severe and potentially expensive problem with a Skoda Octavia in such a short time — while also seeing that thousands of other owners appear to be experiencing similar problems — strongly suggests that this is a widespread chronic manufacturing defect. Our vehicle is currently waiting at the service center, and this process has caused us serious financial and emotional stress.
There has been absolutely no misuse of the vehicle, all maintenance was completed on time through authorized service centers, and the car remains accident-free and relatively new. Despite this, we do not accept that the financial burden of a problem repeatedly described by owners as chronic should be imposed on customers. We demand that Skoda take responsibility for this widespread defect, fully repair the issue free of charge, and properly address the inconvenience and distress we have experienced throughout this process.
