Skechers Oak Canyon Shoes: Sole Separation and Durability Issues

3

Some months ago I bought a pair of Skechers Oak Canyon rugged slip‑on shoes in olive green and black, which I used roughly once a week for woodland trekking. After about five months of this usage, the uppers began to separate from the soles. My local dealer examined the shoes and replaced them under warranty, and I have already left a positive review for the store because they handled the situation well. However, I am concerned that this is not an isolated case but a quality issue with the product. A friend who bought the same model a few weeks apart from my purchase experienced very similar upper–sole separation and delamination problems after roughly the same kind of woodland distances. When my dealer processed my warranty claim, they had just dealt with the same separation problem for another customer only minutes before. Because I am no longer confident that my replacement pair will last under normal trekking conditions, I avoid using them on steep downhill sections and have chosen a cheaper alternative brand for my woodland hikes. I would like Skechers to review and improve the quality and durability of this model so that customers can once again buy it with confidence as a fit‑for‑purpose trekking shoe.
