I rented a Jeep Avenger UTL PET AUT from Sixt Rent a Car at Bosnia and Herzegovina Airport on 12 April 2026. The rental agreement number 9522899152 was issued in my name, and during vehicle pick-up, a security deposit of €700 was charged to my husband’s card.
I returned the vehicle on 14 April 2026 in perfect condition. There was no damage, no accident, and no issue of any kind was raised by the Sixt staff during or after the return inspection process. Everything was completed normally, and the vehicle was accepted without dispute.
Despite this, the €700 security deposit has still not been refunded to the card. At the time of return, I was informed that the deposit would be released and refunded within one month. However, this period has already passed, and we still have not received the money back.
I contacted Sixt regarding this issue, but I have not received any satisfactory explanation, confirmed refund date, or proper assistance. This situation is extremely frustrating and unacceptable, especially for a large international rental company that should handle customer deposits professionally and transparently.
I am also aware that many other customers have reportedly experienced similar issues at this location, including delayed or missing deposit refunds, poor communication, and prolonged waiting periods without clear updates.
I request that Sixt immediately refund the €700 security deposit back to my husband’s card and provide a clear and detailed explanation regarding the reason for the delay in processing this refund.
