Sixt Made an Unjust Damage Claim and Exploited Me as a Customer
Sixt is demanding an entirely unjust, unlawful, and undocumented payment! I rented a vehicle with the license plate 34 *** 886 on October 18, and the only incident during the rental period was an accident where, according to the police report, the other party was 100% at fault. Despite this, more than three months after returning the vehicle, the company contacted me, demanding ₺9,929 for damage without providing any documents or evidence. During this process: the staff did not report any issues when I returned the vehicle, and the police report confirmed that the fault lay entirely with the other party. Despite all this, they are now requesting payment through a threatening email without presenting any supporting documents. I strongly condemn such undocumented, unlawful, and customer-unfriendly practices!
I was called by a Sixt representative and was told that it was normal for part of the damage to be charged to me because I did not have an additional insurance package. However, this is completely incorrect reasoning! The truth is: ✅ The additional insurance package is valid for accidents caused by the customer's own fault. ✅ As confirmed by the police report, the other party is 100% at fault in the accident. ✅ In this case, the damage cost should be covered by the other party's insurance, and charging the customer is unlawful. While the unjustly demanded fee should be canceled and an apology issued, instead, trying to collect payment with incorrect reasoning is a complete disappointment. Unfortunately, Sixt continues to exhibit a trust-damaging attitude by trying to impose a payment on the customer even in an accident where the other party is at fault.
