Siemens Damaged My Plumbing While Fixing My Washing Machine and Refused to Help
The washing machine I bought in June 2024 from Siemens was installed in July. After using it, some of our clothes started to shrink and get damaged. We attributed this to not knowing how to use the machine. At the same time, despite it being summer, we started receiving very high natural gas bills. Here's where the story begins. Since the gas bill was high during the summer, I called the boiler technical service. The boiler technician said that the washing machine had been connected to the hot water system of the boiler. The washing machine also had issues where it would restart after the washing cycle was finished, and sometimes the display would completely disappear. I reported the situation to customer service, and they sent a technician. The technician acknowledged the error and said the machine should be connected to the cold water tap and that the other issues would be resolved, stating that the problems were caused by the hot water. He tried to remove the faucet's attachment but, since he didn’t have a pipe wrench, attempted it in different ways, damaging the faucet in the process. When I warned him, he said the part was stuck and suggested that I buy a replacement. I bought the part. However, this time, because the faucet was damaged in various areas, it started leaking. The technician then said this wasn’t his job and that I should call a plumber. I asked, "Why did you intervene and cause damage to the plumbing then?" He said he wouldn’t take further action and tried to make me sign a report stating he had connected the machine as if he hadn’t caused any damage. When I objected, he wrote a new report and told me to call a plumber and left. I contacted customer service again, and the representative said they would send another technician. I specifically requested that it not be the same technician who caused the damage, but to my surprise, the same technician arrived. He didn’t even enter the house and said, "It’s been 3.5 months since your bills and clothes issue, and nothing can be done now. I’m just here to deliver this paperwork from Istanbul, and I won’t touch the plumbing." And then he left. Is it over? No. I called the customer service representative again and explained the situation, but the representative simply repeated the same sentence no matter what I said: "I will call you if there’s a different development." When I asked who was at fault, the answer was, "You’re right, I’ll call you if there’s a different development." When I asked about my grievance, the answer was the same. When I said I couldn’t use my machine, the response was again, "I’ll call you if there’s a different development." How is a brand’s value measured? You’ll find the answer in this account of what I experienced with Siemens. Of course, I will seek my legal rights, but you can be sure that I will share my experience on every platform I can find.
"I didn't know Siemens could be this indifferent; they acknowledge the mistake but do not address the grievance."
The customer service called and said it's not related to us, it's related to the service. I asked whose service it is. Error. Honestly, I have nothing more to say. I've applied to the Arbitration Committee, let's hope for the best.
