Siemens Asked Me to Pay for Costly Washing Machine Repair Without Clear Diagnosis

When we got married in 2015, we bought all our home appliances from Siemens (washing machine, refrigerator, dishwasher, dryer, freezer, stove, and range hood). Shortly after the warranty expired, the i-DOS feature on the washing machine (shown in the image) stopped working. Since the repair cost was too high, we continued using it manually by adding detergent ourselves. Before the ramadan holiday, the washing machine started freezing at random points during cycles, sometimes completing the wash and other times getting stuck. We called for service, and they came today. They tested all functions but found no issue other than the pre-existing i-DOS malfunction. They cleaned the hoses and told us to try it again, saying if the problem persists, it might be a 'control board issue'—even though no error code appears on the display. Now they’re suggesting a replacement part costing ₺6,000–7,000, but there’s no clear evidence that this part is actually the problem. If I pay for the repair and the issue continues, what recourse do I have? Is this really how repairs should be handled? I expect better from Siemens. As seen in the image, the detergent drawer is corroded underneath—a common problem many users face. At this point, if I ever need to buy another washing machine, I doubt I’ll choose Siemens again.

We were called by the headquarters yesterday and were told that information would be obtained from the service regarding the data process and that instructions would be given to the service to get back to us, but there has been no response yet. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of waiting with the washing machine being faulty. I guess I'll have to repair it myself at this rate...

Today, Siemens headquarters directed a new service. The friends who came across a new fault during their test, the previous service did not see that fault. They said that the inverter card gave an error and that this card needed to be replaced. We are replacing this card for the second time in this machine. Also, the card comes by order. We are experiencing one grievance after another with a product we chose as a world brand and paid extra money for. There are two children at home, and the washing machine hasn't been working for weeks, and as if that weren't enough, we will also wait for a part for at least five days, at best. We bought it because it's German-made, but we got stuck with the Turkish mentality again...

In summary, the repair efforts made by the service in a trial-and-error manner were unsuccessful. Making us wait 5 days for each necessary part is already a separate nonsense. An approach that operates without stock and victimizes its customers who choose it. After 4 weeks, we returned to where we started. There is nothing to say about their attempt to convince us regarding the malfunction of the same part for the second time in the device, claiming that electronics are a matter of luck... Siemens should apparently not be preferred, judging by the complaints on the site...

"They ignored the laws in Turkey and refused to accept the replacement. My advice to those who are considering buying a machine from this brand is to read the complaints before making a decision. They never stand behind the products they sell. The panel of our machine will be replaced for the third time. By the way, when the machine cracks, the board gets damp and water definitely gets inside, so in the long run, those parts will also start to fail. While we were barely making ends meet and wanted to buy a quality product for our home, we ended up in trouble. I will upload the photos to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and see what result comes from there. Be careful, friends, I suffered, don't let it happen to you. If you think this is a quality brand, take a look at the photos in this complaint."
