New Siemens Refrigerator Smells, Cooktop Rusts, Range Hood Fails

January 8 10:45 PM96

I purchased a refrigerator, cooktop, and range hood from Siemens in İskenderun about nine months ago, and I have been dissatisfied from the very first day. Ever since the refrigerator was delivered to my home, it has had a persistent odor inside that never goes away, even though the appliance is still very new. The cooktop rusted in a short period of time, and the range hood does not function properly. The range hood is extremely loud and does not absorb odors at all, and now its buttons and lights are no longer working. Why should a brand-new, supposedly flawless product be sent for repair? When I open the refrigerator door, the entire house smells. We deeply regret choosing Siemens. As for the cooktop, it has already rusted—and we only learned that this was considered “normal” after contacting Siemens. I do not want to send my brand-new, never-used dowry appliances for repair; I want a replacement. When I contacted authorized service and customer support, I was told that even though the products are new and defective, they would not be replaced and that only repairs would be offered. I do not accept being given only a repair option when the products I purchased as new were problematic from the very beginning. I demand that Siemens replace the refrigerator, cooktop, and range hood entirely with new units.

Progress

My Siemens refrigerator's deep freezer compartment problem has not been resolved for about four months. They took the product for inspection and then left it back without any work done. During this time, the refrigerator has been sitting empty at home, and a heavy and unpleasant odor has permeated inside. The service said the problem was caused by the internal filter and said they would come to replace the filter, but no one ever came.

Similarly, when I reported the issue with the exhaust hood that I have never used at home, they said “our mistake, we will install a free filter,” but no service visit or action occurred. Regarding the rust that formed on the stove, the service gave feedback “yes, you’re right, we will replace it for free,” yet no concrete steps have been taken to date.

Throughout this process I have had about 20 phone calls with customer service and the service department. Each time I was told “we will get back to you,” and was stalled, but no response was provided. Now my oven also started having cooking problems; the food does not cook properly and each day a new issue appears while no progress is made toward a solution.

I want all the faults concerning my Siemens refrigerator, exhaust hood, stove and oven, which are still under warranty and used at my address in Antakya, Hatay, to be taken into account, as well as the promises made by the service that were not kept. I demand that the necessary repairs or part/product replacements be carried out promptly, completely and free of charge, and that the long‑standing hardship I have endured be remedied.

Siemens says that because you cleaned the stove with a supermarket detergent (oil and grease) you misread the rusted stove, and tells you not to clean with detergent; it also says the fridge got an odor because you cleaned it with vinegar. I'm losing my mind—what are we supposed to use? They say it's Siemens' chemicals. You can't even make a machine yet and you produced detergent? I want a replacement; they have really put me through a lot, no one, no one.
