Shutterstock Signed Me Up for an Annual Plan When I Thought I Was Buying Monthly

On December 25, 2025, I purchased a membership on Shutterstock, believing it to be a monthly subscription, and paid $118. When I tried to cancel the same day, I discovered that I had actually started an annual subscription and would need to pay 50% of the full annual fee to cancel. Because the nature of the subscription was not made sufficiently clear during the purchase process and I genuinely believed I was signing up for a monthly plan, I feel seriously misled.
I do not accept the additional payment condition that appeared when I attempted to cancel, and I do not consider it fair. When I contacted customer service, I was met with an AI-driven system and was told I would receive a follow-up email — but no clear resolution has been provided so far.
I am requesting either a full refund of the $118 I paid, or at minimum the cancellation of my membership without any additional fee. My account details — including my customer number, subscription number, and registered email address — are available for verification, and I am asking for a prompt response through those details.
