Scribd Charged $12 After I Canceled the Free Trial

I started a free trial subscription with Scribd and canceled the subscription through the app on the same day the trial began, before the trial period ended. Despite this, I noticed from my bank transaction statement that my card was charged $12 by “scribd.com” on September 16, 2026.

Since I canceled the subscription before the free trial ended, I should not have been charged any fee. I believe it is unfair that approximately $12 was charged to my card despite my cancellation. The screen explaining the billing also clearly stated that I was still in the free trial period, yet the transaction was processed as if the subscription had been automatically renewed despite my cancellation.

I request that the $12 charge made to my card be canceled and fully refunded as soon as possible. I also request that all potential automatic renewals and subscriptions associated with my account be completely disabled.
