Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Screen Issues - Warranty Denied
55

On Thursday, June 12th, I took my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 to the authorized Samsung service center, Yıldırım Elektronik in Antalya, requesting that the inner screen protector (film) be replaced. They informed me that due to a visible impact on the screen caused by a lighter falling on it (Point 1), they would not be able to replace the screen protector. However, since the device was still under warranty, they offered to inspect it, and I left the phone with them. Later the same day, I was contacted and informed that the screen had been deemed as user-damaged and that a replacement would cost 13,700₺. I had not requested a full screen replacement — my only request was to replace the inner screen protector. On Friday, June 13th, I went to collect my phone and noticed that the screen protector had been removed and then reattached improperly, leaving the screen looking like a “minefield.” The representative at the service desk initially refused to assist. I insisted that I came in specifically to have the screen protector replaced, and while they acknowledged the damage prevented them from changing it, I questioned why they would remove the film and then haphazardly reattach the old one. After much insistence, a new screen protector was finally applied, and I took the phone home. Later that same day, upon inspecting my phone at home, I noticed a dead pixel issue at the folding line (Point 2). The next day, Saturday, June 14th, I immediately returned to the service center and explained the situation — that I had just received the phone back the day before and was now experiencing this new issue. I reminded them that the same service center had previously replaced my screen for a similar issue under warranty. Despite this, they stated that since a repair quote had already been issued due to a prior damage assessment, my warranty would no longer cover the new defect, even though this was clearly unrelated and likely a chronic issue common in this model. They added that if I paid for the repair, my warranty would remain valid; otherwise, it wouldn’t. This contradicts the fact that my device is still under warranty until November 2025.
