Samsung Dishwasher Showed hc Error and the Service Claimed Motor Failure

My Samsung dishwasher, which I’ve been using for four years, suddenly displayed the 'hc' warning. According to Samsung's website, this warning indicates a "heater or thermostat failure" and suggests restarting the machine. On my first attempt, the dishwasher worked normally, but the second time, the same warning appeared, and it stopped washing altogether. I called customer service, and after running the machine for just two minutes, they claimed it had a motor failure, quoting a replacement cost of ₺7,000. The machine had a 3-year warranty, and the motor conveniently failed in the 4th year. After reading similar complaints, I realized Samsung service often defaults to declaring motor failure. How can the motor of a four-year-old machine break down like this? I chose Samsung for durability, expecting to use their products for years. It turns out their parts aren’t built to last, failing just after the warranty expires, forcing costly repairs. In fact, the issue is likely a capacitor worth ₺100, but they push unnecessary motor replacements costing thousands. I’ve trusted the brand and bought many Samsung products, from phones to home appliances. I’ll never choose Samsung again.

My Samsung dishwasher gave an error with the code hc. The problem is due to a chronic fault experienced by many people. Any quality company that values customer satisfaction would offer the possibility of free diagnosis and repair/replacement for such a frequently occurring fault despite standard usage. I talked to customer service and the authorized service. However, the representatives of this company started talking about the cost as soon as they picked up the phone. Even if they did nothing, they demanded exorbitant fees just to come and inspect. They even mentioned that a motor replacement might be necessary when it wasn't needed at all, and in that case, I would have to pay a price even higher than a new dishwasher. So I sat down and did some research. I thoroughly analyzed the problem and learned that the capacitor in the heating system might be faulty. I removed the part and did technical measurements. It did not meet the factory values written on it, and I was sure that the problem was caused by it. I bought a capacitor with the same values for 50₺ and replaced it myself. My machine has been working flawlessly for quite some time. Be sure not to pay thousands of liras for very simple operations to such greedy companies and people. Learn to do it yourself and repair it. This is the only solution to eradicate this mindset. Maybe when they go hungry, they will learn that they need to consider the customers' pockets as well. As a result, I was not satisfied with any of the company's services. I would never recommend it. I will never buy a Samsung product myself from now on.
