Samsung Dishwasher Showed HC Error and Needed a Costly Motor Replacement
The Samsung dishwasher I’ve been using for four years suddenly displayed an "hc" error. According to Samsung’s website, this error indicates a "heater or thermostat failure" and suggests turning the machine off and on again to restart the washing program. On my first attempt, the machine worked normally, but the error reappeared the second time and stopped functioning entirely. I called for service, and after running the machine for two minutes, the technician claimed it was a motor failure and said replacing the motor would cost ₺7,000. A 3-year warranty and a motor failure in the 4th year—this feels like a pattern. Reading other complaints, I realized Samsung’s service often diagnoses every issue as a motor failure. How does a motor fail after just four years? This isn’t a 10-year-old machine. I chose Samsung for all my appliances because I wanted reliability and durability, but now I regret it. It seems the lifespan is only four years.
