Samsung Charged for Refrigerator Motor Replacement Despite Warranty


Our Samsung refrigerator experienced a motor failure, and we contacted service, assuming it would be covered under the 10-year warranty. The technician confirmed the motor issue but subtly implied other causes to avoid covering the repair under warranty. When we escalated the matter to Samsung Customer Service, they informed us that the motor needed replacement and quoted a fee of ₺7800. Despite agreeing to pay, they insisted on full payment upfront before proceeding with the repair, which put us in a challenging position. We also discovered that Samsung refrigerators are manufactured by Vestel, with only the motor supplied by Samsung, yet Samsung refrigerators are sold at significantly higher prices compared to Vestel models. This lack of transparency about manufacturing partnerships raises questions about brand reliability and pricing practices. As customers, we expected more transparency and a better service experience from a well-established brand like Samsung.
