Samsonite 10-Year Warranty Refuses Handle Repair And Declines Proper Replacement

In June 2016, I bought a Samsonite suitcase with a 10-year warranty. I used this suitcase only about 5–6 times, and after it had been standing in the wardrobe for a while, I noticed that the handles had crumbled and become damaged on their own, without any impact or misuse. Because of this, in June 2025 I took the suitcase to the Samsonite store, an authorized sales point, and requested that a product with a 10-year warranty be repaired or replaced. After inspection, I was informed that they could not repair the handles and would not replace the suitcase. Instead, they offered either to refund the amount I paid in 2016 or to deduct that same amount from a new suitcase purchase. I bought the suitcase for ₺500 in 2016, and they offered the same ₺500 back in 2025. In today’s economy, ₺500 is not enough even for a meal, let alone a Samsonite suitcase of similar level and quality. My suitcase was returned to me without repair and without replacement, and my grievance remains unresolved. I did not purchase an ordinary suitcase; I chose Samsonite because it is a globally recognized brand known for quality and because it offers a 10-year warranty, which I trusted. I request that my suitcase be repaired free of charge if technically possible or, if it cannot be repaired, that it be replaced with an equivalent Samsonite suitcase without demanding any additional payment, so that the warranty commitment and brand reliability are upheld.
