Remington Authorized Service Refuses Immediate Product Replacement
On August 13, 2026, I purchased a Remington hair straightener via Trendyol. Following an operational defect, I sent the unit directly to Remington’s authorized service center for inspection (Service Tracking No. TYF2026000011461). On August 28, 2026, authorized service representatives called to formally notify me that the device was unrepairable.
Rather than honoring statutory replacement obligations, the service center attempted to impose an inferior, lower-tier model as a replacement, which I explicitly rejected. When I demanded an exact, defect-free replacement (ayıpsız misli ile değişim), representatives claimed I would have to wait until December—over four months—for stock availability. Forcing a consumer to accept a product downgrade or endure unreasonable delays for an unrepairable defective unit violates fundamental consumer rights under Law No. 6502.
Exercising my statutory rights under Article 11 of Law No. 6502, I refuse both the downgraded substitute and the multi-month delay. I demand that Remington Turkey immediately deliver an exact, defect-free replacement of the identical model or process a complete refund of the purchase price without delay. If this demand is not fulfilled within legal timeframes, I will escalate this claim directly to the Consumer Arbitration Board, submitting all phone logs and service documentation as evidence.
