Weekly Unauthorized Charges After Cancelation - ReelShort
I am raising a formal complaint regarding unauthorized charges made by Reelshort to my credit card, despite my having cancelled the weekly VIP subscription via Google Play. I originally subscribed to the Reelshort weekly VIP plan on 21 May through my Google Play account, which is registered in South Africa along with my credit card. I then cancelled this subscription properly through Google Play, and in my Google Play subscriptions the last payment is shown as 21 May, with no further renewals scheduled. However, on 26 June, four separate charges of R254.49 each (totalling R1,020) were billed to my credit card for the weekly subscription. I became aware of these charges only when I received an alert from my bank’s mobile app. These charges do not appear in my Google Play subscriptions history as authorized payments, and I did not consent to any renewal or new subscription after cancelling. My Google Play and Reelshort usage are linked to the email address: bap***@gmail.com, and my Google Play account and credit card are both registered in South Africa. I have searched for a clear customer support channel or contact point for Reelshort but have not been able to find any effective way to resolve this issue directly with the company. I request a full refund of the unauthorized R1,020 charged on 26 June, the immediate cancellation of any active or hidden subscription related to my account, and written confirmation that no further charges will be made to my card without my explicit consent. I also expect this matter to be investigated and resolved promptly, as I cancelled my subscription correctly through Google Play and did not authorize any payments beyond 21 May.
