Qatar Airways Broke My Luggage Wheel and Hasn’t Paid the Promised Compensation
On January 19, I flew with Qatar Airways from Istanbul Airport to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on flights QR246 and QR836. Upon arriving in Bangkok, I discovered that one of the wheels on my suitcase was broken. I immediately reported the damage to Qatar Airways staff at the airport, and they filed a damage report.
After several email exchanges, I was told that $45 would be paid to my IBAN as compensation. I submitted all the necessary documents as requested, but it’s now been over two months, and I still haven’t received any payment. Not a single update. No confirmation. Nothing.
I’m extremely disappointed in how this has been handled. How can a globally recognized airline like Qatar Airways allow such negligence from its support team? It’s unacceptable that I have to chase compensation for damage they clearly acknowledged.
