Brand New Peugeot E-3008 Battery Health Issue
I have a Peugeot e-3008 Allure model vehicle, registered on January 20, 2025, which I purchased in Turkey. Due to concerns about range and battery usage during the first few months of use, I delivered my vehicle to General Oto Peugeot authorized service on May 22, 2025. I received it back on May 27, 2025, but was not given detailed information about the battery’s health. I was simply told there was no issue and advised to drive 500 km and return. Following their instructions, I brought the vehicle back on June 21, 2025, with the same complaint. This time, it was determined that the battery health had dropped to 80%. A file was opened with Peugeot France, but they closed the case by declaring this situation normal, without even allowing the local authorized service to respond. My vehicle is only 5 months old with just 6,000 kilometers of usage, yet Peugeot deems it acceptable that a nearly new vehicle has lost 20% of its battery capacity. This means I cannot use 20% of the promised range, which is a significant and unacceptable loss. For instance, if a standard e-3008 can travel 450 km under normal conditions, my vehicle can only reach 360 km; or if another can go 400 km, mine only manages 320 km. Such performance loss in a 4–5-month-old car is absolutely not normal and qualifies the vehicle as defective. The 80% battery health reading is documented by General Oto Peugeot. I am formally requesting that PEUGEOT TURKEY and/or PEUGEOT FRANCE urgently offer one of the following solutions: (1) replacement of the battery with a new one to restore full usage capacity, (2) replacement of the vehicle with a new one of the same model, or (3) return of the vehicle and a full refund based on the current list price.
Peugeot Turkey's headquarters called me today. They said 80% battery health in a 4-month-old car is normal. According to their calculation, it would also be normal for the car's battery to become useless within 2 years. If we roughly calculate, it won't even last 2 years at this rate. Peugeot Turkey does not stand behind the defective vehicle it sold. Those who want to buy an electric vehicle should definitely take this into consideration. The car is very comfortable and very good, but you should stay away from companies that do not stand behind their defective products and leave their customers victimized by not taking responsibility for serious malfunctions that may occur in the future. I am taking the matter to court. It may take time, but there is no chance that I will lose this case. Peugeot, on the other hand, will both lose a loyal customer and I will warn people by making this incident known to as many people as possible.
