Payless Car Rental Overcharged Me After Vehicle Return
I rented a Renault Clio from Payless Car Rental at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport for five days, from May 23 to May 28. The vehicle was provided with a half tank of fuel, and I returned it with approximately a quarter tank remaining.
When I returned the vehicle, I discovered that my entire €150 security deposit had been withheld. In addition, I was charged approximately $214 to my credit card. I was told these charges were for highway tolls, tunnel fees, and the fuel difference, but I believe the total amount is excessive and completely disproportionate. The explanation I received was vague and did not justify the charges.
I raised my concerns in person at the Sabiha Gökçen Airport office when I returned the car, but no one provided a clear or detailed explanation. Instead, the issue was simply dismissed. The vehicle's license plate was 34 HDE 686.
I request a complete written breakdown of every charge that was deducted from my account. I also request documentation for all highway tolls and tunnel crossings, including the dates, times, and supporting records, as well as a detailed explanation of how the fuel charge was calculated. If the review shows that any of these charges were incorrect or excessive, I request that the overcharged amounts be refunded immediately.
I expect a prompt, transparent, and professional response explaining these charges in full.
