I Regret Using Oppo Clone Phone—It Messed Up All My Contacts on My Mom’s New Device
We recently bought a brand-new Oppo phone for my mother from a well-known store in Söğütözü, Ankara. The salesperson confidently told us about the Oppo Clone Phone app, claiming it would seamlessly transfer everything from the old phone to the new one without any issues. That reassurance couldn’t have been more misleading.
After using Clone Phone, we found that my number appeared under a contact saved as 'Butcher', the pharmacist became the baker, and my uncle somehow turned into a bus company in her contacts. The entire contact list was scrambled and merged into a complete mess. We went back to the store, hoping for a resolution.
An employee—dressed in an Oppo-branded t-shirt with a Champions League logo—offered to help. His solution? He completely wiped the device, re-cloned everything… and the exact same issue happened again. His excuse? “It’s WhatsApp’s fault.” That was the extent of the support offered—a lazy, dismissive answer blaming another app.
This has been a frustrating and time-wasting experience, and my trust in both Oppo and the store that sold us the device has completely eroded. I expect Oppo to take accountability for the failure of their Clone Phone app, and either provide a tool to clean up this disaster or compensate us for the inconvenience. I truly regret choosing Oppo.
