If your airline has canceled your flight without your knowledge, they should offer you either an alternative flight or a full refund.

You can contact the airline directly to request a refund. If your flight is canceled while you are already at the airport, you may also be entitled to compensation from the airline. You can get this information at the airline counter.

If you are stranded, you are entitled to assistance from the airline, including hotel accommodation, meals, refreshments and communication facilities. Contact the airline for more information.

If your flight is canceled due to airline bankruptcy, the possibility of a refund depends on legal procedures, which may vary depending on the country in which the airline is based. As a rule, these are lengthy legal proceedings that can lead to delays or even non-refund. In such cases, you can contact your insurer or card issuer to check whether they will cover the costs.
