Facebook 2FA Code Still Goes to Old Phone Number
I have been experiencing an unresolved security and verification issue with my Meta/Facebook account for approximately one month. Even though I no longer have access to the old phone number registered to my account, verification codes for two-factor authentication (2FA) and other security processes are still being sent to that old number.
I still have access to the email address associated with my account and can log in through email. However, whenever I try to remove the old phone number or add my current phone number, the system sends another verification code to the old number. As a result, I cannot update my security information, make the necessary changes to my account, or manage my security settings, leaving me essentially locked within the system.
I have contacted Meta Support repeatedly to resolve this issue. I started multiple support conversations, explained the problem in detail, and stated that I am willing to verify that I am the actual account owner through alternative methods. In some conversations, I waited for a representative for an extended period, while in others, the representative left the conversation and the process ended without any resolution. Despite submitting support requests repeatedly, no permanent solution has been provided.
The issue is not that I have completely lost access to my account. I can still log in through my email, but I cannot change my security information because two-factor authentication is still tied to a phone number that I no longer use. This situation seriously limits both the security of my account and my ability to use the platform properly.
I am requesting that Meta verify my account through alternative methods, completely remove the old phone number that I no longer have access to, add my current phone number, and update two-factor authentication so that it is no longer dependent on the old number. I want this issue, which has been ongoing for approximately one month, to be reviewed by an actual Meta representative and permanently resolved.
