Massimo Dutti Pants Developed Pilling After the First Hand Wash

On June 21, 2026, I purchased a pair of Massimo Dutti pants. About one week after buying them, I gently hand-washed the pants in lukewarm water. After this very first wash, I noticed significant pilling and visible deterioration on the inside of both pocket linings.
I returned the pants to the Massimo Dutti Mall of Istanbul store, where I was informed that the product would be sent for inspection. Nearly three weeks passed without any update. I eventually visited the store myself to ask about the status of my claim, only to be told verbally that the pocket linings were made of cotton and that pilling could occur for that reason. I do not consider this explanation satisfactory. A premium pair of pants should not develop such noticeable wear after a single gentle hand wash.
I believe the product is defective and does not meet the quality standards expected from the Massimo Dutti brand. I request a full refund for the pants or, if a refund cannot be provided, a replacement with a new, defect-free pair. I also ask Massimo Dutti to resolve this matter promptly and with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
