Marks and Spencer Shirt Developed Holes After One Wash

I purchased a white shirt from the Marks & Spencer online store on September 13, 2026. I washed the shirt before wearing it for the first time, following the care instructions on the label. I washed it inside a laundry bag at 30°C, which is even lower than the 40°C temperature specified on the label. My washing machine is a Miele with a honeycomb-patterned drum, so it is not a type of machine that would normally damage clothing.
After washing the shirt, I noticed while ironing it that there were holes on both the front and back. Since the shirt had never been worn, I want to emphasize that there was no possibility of it being damaged while I was wearing it. I also noticed that there was not even the slightest sign of yellowing under the arms, despite the shirt being white. If the damage was caused by washing, then I do not believe it is acceptable for a Marks & Spencer shirt to become damaged like this after a single wash.
For this reason, I left the shirt at the Akbatı store for inspection. After the store's inspection, I was informed that the damage was considered to have been caused by me and was classified as user error. I do not believe it is fair to hold me responsible for holes appearing on both the front and back of a shirt that had never been worn and had been washed at a low temperature inside a laundry bag in accordance with the care instructions. Throughout this process, I felt as though I was dealing with a brand that was unwilling to stand behind its product.
I request that Marks & Spencer review the inspection result again in an objective manner and replace the shirt, which I believe is defective, with an identical new one.
