LINE Account Transfer Failed on iPhone Without Easy Transfer QR Code
I am a LINE user in the United States on iOS and recently changed my iPhone. After the change, I discovered that I am effectively blocked from accessing my LINE account and data because I do not have the “easy transfer QR code.” The regular QR code does not work for this process, which feels like a very unreasonable limitation. As a result, I have lost access to my chat history, contacts, stickers, purchase records, photos and other data associated with my account. From what I can see, similar complaints from U.S. users about this issue have been posted for more than two years without any meaningful solution being provided. Once a U.S. user forgets or is unable to obtain the easy transfer QR code before changing phones, the account and data are essentially doomed. I am asking LINE to provide a workable and fair way for U.S. users to transfer or recover their account and data when switching to a new phone, even if they do not have the easy transfer QR code. I believe it is not acceptable to simply show alerts or warnings while leaving users with no alternative recovery option. Unless an acceptable solution is implemented, I will be forced to stop using LINE and switch to another similar app that offers a more reliable account and data transfer system.
