Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 Battery Drain During Gaming Due to Insufficient 170W Adapter

December 26, 2024 2:31 PM184

I recently purchased the Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 (83GS), and I’m facing a significant issue: while gaming with the laptop plugged in, the battery level drops consistently, leading to a battery drain. It’s clear that the included 170W adapter is insufficient for this device. Despite acknowledging the problem, Lenovo support insists on sending my nearly brand-new laptop for a service process instead of providing the 230W adapter that’s clearly needed.

Why should I be without my two-week-old laptop for 20 business days when the issue is already well-documented? The constant suggestions to calibrate the battery or update the software feel dismissive, especially with so many users reporting the same issue.

While gaming, my battery drains to as low as 80%, which raises concerns about long-term usability. Will I have to use this laptop as a desktop in a year due to battery degradation? I urgently request that Lenovo replace my 170W charger with a 230W model immediately to resolve this issue effectively.
