Karcher FC7 and FC4 Floor Cleaners Keep Failing

In August 2021, I bought a Karcher FC7 Cordless Floor Cleaner from your website. I had previously purchased a Pressure Washer and Steam Cleaner from Karcher, a brand I trusted and always recommended. Unfortunately, my experience with the FC7 was underwhelming. The equipment has broken down twice in the last three years. The first time, the cleaning rollers stopped working, and the device refused to charge. I sent it to service, and they informed me that the motherboard had burned out. The item was replaced under warranty.

However, about two months ago, the machine stopped working again. I sent it to service, and once again, I was told that the motherboard had failed. Despite taking good care of the equipment, I am now being requested to pay ₺15,000 for a new motherboard, which is approximately the price of the complete laptop! I refused and requested that the malfunctioning equipment be returned, with the intention of purchasing a new one instead.

I recently got the Karcher FC4 Cordless Floor Cleaner in June 2024, picking it precisely because it lacks an internal battery. Unfortunately, this item quit operating in early August after only two months. Now I've been requested to send that in for service as well.

After these three breakdowns, my faith in Karcher's floor cleaning machines has vanished. I believe these reoccurring issues are the result of production flaws. I am now stuck with two devices costing roughly ₺30,000 that no longer work. I've seen similar concerns online, and if the situation isn't remedied, I'll take action to safeguard my consumer rights. However, I wanted to give Karcher an opportunity to answer first.

On September 27th, approximately 25 days later, the brand got back to me and sent a new device. But the strange thing is that the new device also doesn't work and turned out to be defective. I am returning the device today with a request for a refund. I can't find any contact from the brand other than the call center. No one has even apologized. They said they will evaluate my refund request. I plan to report the issue to the manufacturer abroad. Meanwhile, my process with the Consumer Committee continues.
