On July 7, 2025, I purchased a Joie Versatrax stroller for ₺12,000 from the E-Bebek store in İzmir Gaziemir. Although I specifically requested a box-opening demonstration in the store, the staff refused to open it and told me that if there were any issues, they would help afterward.
When I opened the box at home, the stroller’s folding mechanism didn’t work at all. I immediately repacked it and returned to the store the next day. The store representative managed to get it to fold temporarily, but once I got home, I realized the stroller couldn’t stand upright when folded, and the locking clip didn’t fasten properly—unlike the display model they had shown us before purchasing.
On July 9, 2025, I brought the stroller back again. The sales clerk admitted there was a defect and informed the store manager. However, the manager, G** K******* **, refused to speak with us at first. We insisted because we didn’t want to take the defective product back home. When she finally came, she insisted there was “no problem” and said she could only send it for repair. I explained that I had purchased a brand-new stroller, not a used one, and requested a refund or replacement instead.
At first, she claimed she could replace it with another sealed unit—but once the salesperson pointed out the product’s issues, the manager completely changed her stance, saying she would not replace it under any circumstances. Her tone was mocking and dismissive, and she even said, “It’s up to my discretion, and I’m not changing it,” before slamming her office door and asking us to leave.
When we called the police, she suddenly changed her attitude and said she would take the stroller back with a 20% deduction, which is unacceptable. Her rude, unprofessional, and insulting behavior has led us to take legal action against her.
I’m asking E-Bebek’s headquarters to investigate this situation, inspect their stores, and ensure that such disrespectful treatment toward customers never happens again. A company that sells premium baby products should not allow its managers to act in such an unprofessional and degrading way.
