I Can't Reset My Instagram Password

I'm having trouble accessing my Instagram account, which has been a real pain. I forgot my password, and even though I usually log in through Facebook, that option is rejected when I try it. To make matters worse, Instagram has begun to request facial recognition. I take a picture and enter my phone number, but it then asks for a backup code, which I don't have. I've tried several approaches, but none of them seem to work. I contacted Instagram via email two months ago, but I have yet to receive a response.
