I bought a Huawei Watch GT 4 41mm for my wife on November 25, 2023. Within 6 months, we had to send it for warranty repairs 5 times to the KVK Authorized Service in Izmir.
Initially, the screen turned white and the touch function stopped working. After the first repair, the touch function failed again, and the vibration was constantly active. The second time, they claimed to have updated it and found no issues, but the screen was barely visible and touch still didn't work. On the third attempt, they deemed it irreparable and replaced it.
The new watch worked fine for about a month before the touch function failed again and the screen brightness began fluctuating. On the fourth repair, they replaced the motherboard but returned it with adhesive residue on the back cover and around the screen.
Two days after the fourth repair, it wouldn't charge. We sent it in for the fifth time, and after 10 days, the service center claimed there was liquid damage, voiding the warranty. They quoted around ₺8000 for repairs, which is about the watch's retail price!
I refused and they returned it, charging me for shipping. I reported this to Huawei customer service, who after a month-long review, sided with the service center's "liquid damage" claim.
This watch is sold with a "5 ATM Water Resistant certification," supposedly withstanding 50 meters depth for 20 minutes. My wife doesn't even swim and is careful to remove the watch when washing her hands. Claiming user error due to liquid damage is insulting!
I'm planning to file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee, but I'm trying to recover the previous service reports that KVK Technical Service didn't return with my last repair attempt.
In conclusion, I'm awaiting an explanation from the authorities on this matter.
