HSBC Bank Threatens to Close My Active USD Account Without Clear Reason

February 20, 2025 6:29 PM53

I've been working freelance with an overseas company that exclusively uses HSBC Bank, prompting me to open an HSBC account a while back. Recently, I've received alarming SMS and emails from HSBC stating they intend to close my account due to supposed inactivity and failing to meet unspecified targets. Yet, this makes no sense—I actively use my USD account monthly, regularly receive funds, frequently shop using the HSBC debit card, and even use it for regular GSS payments! I demanded clarification from HSBC via email, but instead of an actual explanation, they disrespectfully sent me a copy-pasted reply repeating the same vague message.
