HSBC Charged an Unfair Annual Fee and Plans to Cancel My Credit Card

October 1, 2025 6:08 PM45

On October 1, 2025, I received an SMS from HSBC stating that my credit card will be deactivated on December 15, 2025, and that all my accumulated reward points will be deleted. I’ve been using my HSBC Advantage credit card for years and do not want it to be canceled this way.

Additionally, I was recently charged a high annual card fee, even though no services were provided. I had previously requested a refund for a similar fee, which was refunded only once.

There are no commitments or additional conditions on my card, and I continue to use it actively. I do not approve of the cancellation of my card; however, if HSBC proceeds with it, I request that all previously collected annual fees be refunded. It’s not fair to charge customers for services that were not rendered. I expect a clear explanation and a resolution to my complaint.
