HSBC Bank Blocked My Account and I Cannot Access My Money
I reopened an account with HSBC Bank approximately 4 days ago that I originally opened in 2011 and had not actively used for the past 3 years. On the night of July 20, 2026, around 12:30 AM, I attempted to log in to mobile banking, but despite entering my password correctly, I received a message stating: “Your password has been blocked, please contact customer service.”
When I immediately contacted customer service, I was informed that my account had approximately $274 in available funds, but the usable balance appeared as $0 and my account had been blocked. They told me they did not know the reason for the block, that they had notified the security department, but they had no information about when I would receive a response. They repeated the same statements without providing a clear explanation and only advised me to contact the branch the following morning.
Having my account and money suddenly blocked in the middle of the night, without any clear information or estimated resolution time, is an unusual and concerning banking experience. If I had needed urgent access to cash, this uncertainty could have caused serious financial difficulties.
I request that HSBC Bank immediately remove the restriction on my account, restore access to my funds, and provide me with a clear written and verbal explanation regarding why this block was placed and what specific reason justified this action. I expect this issue and the inconvenience I experienced to be resolved as soon as possible.
