I attempted to book a two-night half-board stay at SS Delux Thermal Hotel & SPA in Saraykent/Yozgat through Hotels.com on December 26, 2024. The promotional price on the website seemed better than booking directly, but to confirm, I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp. The hotel representative, identified as H******, quoted an inflated price of approximately ₺12,000, which was significantly higher than the website listing.
When I questioned this inconsistency, I received vague responses and was told I might face issues if I booked through the website, including threats that my reservation could be invalid or that I would need to pay extra fees despite booking a family suite. The representative’s tone was dismissive and unprofessional. Despite sending screenshots of the lower online price, the hotel refused to address the issue or resolve it.
Hotels.com also failed to assist, as their contact numbers listed on the site went unanswered. The hotel’s arbitrary price increases and lack of accountability ruined our short vacation plans from the start. Their deceptive pricing practices and uncooperative attitude are unacceptable.
I will be filing complaints with TURSAB, the Ministry of Trade, and other platforms like Tripadvisor to warn potential guests. If unresolved, I will consult my attorney to pursue legal action. Hotels.com must step up as an intermediary to protect its customers from such unethical practices.
