Hotels.com Billed My $300 Local Booking in USD, Causing Hidden Fees

On August 13, 2026, I made a purchase of $300 on Hotels.com using my Ziraat Bank credit card ending in 5115, which was listed with the descriptor "hotelcom72077952585719 TR. H". Even though the transaction SMS notification listed the charge in local currency, I noticed that it was billed as a foreign currency charge (USD) when it posted to my credit card statement.

Even though I completed the purchase on a localized website displaying local currency, having it billed in US dollars forced me to pay extra foreign exchange fees and exchange rate differences. I believe the charge should have been processed and calculated in the local currency as originally displayed at the time of purchase.

I request that Ziraat Bank correct this Hotels.com transaction on my statement back to the original local currency amount and refund any overcharges resulting from the unexpected currency conversion fees.
