Hostinger Fails to Activate .com.tr Domain After Verification
On August 17, 2026, I purchased a domain with a “.com.tr” extension through Hostinger. During registration, I accidentally entered the ownership contact email address incorrectly by mistyping a single character (a period), which prevented the verification email from reaching me.
As soon as I noticed the mistake, I contacted live support and requested a correction. I was told that this correction was considered a “change of ownership information” and would incur an additional fee. Hostinger requested approximately $5 for correcting just one character. Without disputing the charge, I paid this fee in addition to the standard domain registration price. I then uploaded all the required documents in full through the link provided and waited for the process to be completed.
Later, the verification email arrived at my correct email address, and I completed the verification. Hostinger also confirmed in writing that my confirmation had been successfully received. Despite this, the domain has not been activated for several days. The only response I have received from the support team is the same canned message stating that they are “waiting for approval from the relevant authority.”
I then investigated the matter myself and contacted the relevant authority, TRABİS, directly. I was informed that the domain had already been activated and was available for use as of the purchase date. I also called the registrar’s customer service center, and they clearly confirmed that all procedures had been completed and that the only remaining step was for Hostinger to activate the domain in its own system.
In short, neither TRABİS nor the registrar is responsible for the problem. The process is stalled on Hostinger’s side, yet the support team keeps sending the same canned response without providing a concrete explanation, leaving me feeling that I am being given the runaround. This delay has put our project on hold and placed us in a difficult position with our client.
I demand that Hostinger immediately activate my domain in its system, as all verification requirements have been completed and the relevant authorities have confirmed that the domain is active. I also expect this situation to be resolved urgently.
