Hoover H500 Tumble Dryer Complaint Unresolved
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a Hoover dryer we purchased approximately one month ago. From the very first use, we experienced a serious design issue with the water tank: it does not fit properly into place and is extremely difficult to insert. We contacted your authorized service team, and they themselves struggled to properly fit the tank. They acknowledged that many customers have reported similar issues and stated that they had emailed the manufacturer about it. However, they were unable to offer a solution during their visit and left without resolving the problem. Despite using the machine fewer than 10 times, the tank eventually dislodged and fell, causing it to break. I then contacted customer service, who created a service request. Given the number of similar complaints I’ve seen online, I assumed the issue would be recognized as a production fault and handled accordingly. Unfortunately, when the service team followed up, I was told that there was nothing they could do and that I would need to purchase a new plastic water tank for nearly one-fifth of the cost of the machine. I find this unacceptable given that the issue is clearly not a result of user error but rather a flaw in design or manufacturing. Additionally, I would like to raise another concern. Upon delivery, customers are strongly pressured to purchase a surge protector or voltage regulator, with the warning that failing to do so may void the warranty in case of an issue. Unless this condition is clearly stated in the warranty terms, such a requirement is misleading and could be considered a deceptive sales practice. I kindly request that: The broken water tank be replaced free of charge under warranty, The product design flaw be officially acknowledged and addressed, the warranty policy regarding surge protectors be clarified and enforced only if it is legally and contractually valid. Please respond promptly regarding how you intend to resolve this issue. I reserve the right to escalate this matter to the Consumer Arbitration Committee or relevant authorities if a satisfactory solution is not provided.
They brought and replaced it. Thank you.
