Hoover Cooktop Warranty Denial and Questionable Customer Service

My kitchen recently received a Hoover cooktop installation. I popped a dish from the stovetop into the oven just two weeks later. I heard a noise coming from the kitchen after about 15 minutes. When I went to check, I discovered that one of the cooktop's burners had cracked. When I contacted the service, they claimed that they had only seen such an incident once in the previous 18 years and that it would not be covered by the warranty. They regarded it as an extremely rare occurrence, implying that it could not have been caused by a manufacturing flaw. In fact, they demanded more than half the cost of a new cooktop just for the replacement glass. It begs the question of whether this is a profit-driven approach to rare issues. I'm very disappointed that Hoover didn't resolve this issue, even though it was obvious that it wasn't my fault. This was my first experience with Hoover, and it has made me regret my decision and question whether I should trust a company that does not stand behind its products.
