I am filing a complaint against Crnogorski Telekom regarding the lack of software and security updates for the Honor Magic7 Lite device I purchased from them in Podgorica, Montenegro at the end of summer 2025. The phone is locked on MagicOS 8.0 and has not received a single update since it has been in my possession. The last security patch shown in the system information is from December 2024, which I find completely unacceptable for a device I bought much later and use on their network.
Because the device has not received any updates, the current MagicOS 8.0 build is full of bugs and the phone is often practically unusable. Beyond usability problems, I am seriously concerned about my privacy and security, because outdated software without security patches exposes me to unnecessary risks. In my view, this situation is contrary to the obligations under the EU Sale of Goods Directive (Directive 2019/771), which requires the seller to provide the necessary updates to keep the device functional and secure during the expected period of use.
I have already contacted Crnogorski Telekom and Honor support about this issue, but instead of a clear solution I received unsatisfactory and evasive answers, which did not resolve anything and only increased my frustration. I expect Crnogorski Telekom, as the seller, to ensure that my Honor Magic7 Lite can be updated at least to MagicOS 9.0 without further delay, especially given that MagicOS 10.0 has already been announced. I request that my device be brought to a current, supported software version without additional cost to me, so that it is stable, usable, and protected with up‑to‑date security patches.
