Holiday Inn Beylikdüzü Room Had Serious Plumbing and Hygiene Problems
I stayed at Holiday Inn Beylikdüzü from July 18 to July 19 and experienced serious problems with the room.
When we entered the room, we noticed that there was no hot water in the shower. We left the water running for a long time, but it never became warm. We later learned that the room had only recently been made available for sale and had apparently been assigned to guests without undergoing the necessary checks.
When we turned on the shower, we also noticed water coming up through the grout between the floor tiles in front of the toilet. It appeared that there was a broken or cracked section around the drain. In addition, water leaked from the back of the toilet whenever it was flushed. This was both disturbing from a hygiene perspective and seriously affected our comfort during the stay.
When we reported these problems to the front desk, we were told that someone could be sent to address the shower issue. However, because we had limited time, we were unable to take advantage of this option. My expectation was that basic checks of essential facilities such as hot water, drainage, and the toilet would have been completed before the room was assigned to a guest.
We did not purchase breakfast when we checked in because our plans for the following morning were not yet certain and we wanted to decide later. When we purchased breakfast the next morning, we were charged 3,000 TL for two people. We had been told at check-in that breakfast would cost 1,700 TL if purchased at that time. Charging such a significantly higher amount for the same breakfast within such a short period of time seems excessive and unfair to us.
Considering both the technical and hygiene-related problems in the room and the significant difference in the breakfast price, I believe I was unfairly inconvenienced during my stay. I request that the problems with the room be investigated and that the necessary maintenance and inspections be carried out. I also request that the 3,000 TL breakfast charge be reviewed in light of the 1,700 TL price quoted at check-in and that an appropriate remedy be provided for the inconvenience I experienced.
