HBO Max Showed Me 3-Minute Pre-Roll Ads on My Paid Annual Subscription
Although I purchased an annual individual subscription to Max (HBO Max), advertisements lasting approximately three minutes began appearing at the start of the content I watched today. As a user paying a premium for a subscription platform, especially on an annual billing plan, I do not accept being forced to watch ads prior to streaming.
As shown in the attached screenshot, an advertisement with a visible countdown timer marked "Ad" is displayed before the content plays. Forcing paying subscribers to watch advertisements as if they were using a free service is deceptive and severely undermines customer satisfaction.
I demand that Max completely remove pre-roll advertisements on paid membership tiers and resolve my grievance by providing a clear explanation regarding my subscription terms so that my consumer rights are not compromised.
