Google Play Refund Not Processed for Canceled Gemini Subscription

Today, I signed up for the Google Gemini trial through my Gmail account for $1 USD. During the in-app process, my membership was accidentally upgraded, and $36 USD was charged to my credit card without my knowledge.
Immediately after the charge was made, I canceled the Gemini subscription the same day and did not use the service in any way. I then submitted a refund request through Google Play. However, despite the time that has passed, I have not received a refund and have not been able to reach a direct representative.
For this transaction — which was canceled on the same day and never used — I request that the $36 USD be refunded to my credit card. Otherwise, I will exercise my legal rights as a consumer.
