Gemini AI Converted Free Student Plan to Paid Subscription Without Consent

55

I enrolled in the Gemini AI Student Version membership through Google for Gemini AI. I am a teacher, and as requested by the system, I uploaded all required documents completely and on the specified dates. Despite this, while I was still within the one-year free trial period, my account was converted to a monthly paid subscription without my knowledge or consent. When a membership fee of approximately $26 was charged to my account on January 10, 2026, I realized that the system had switched my account to a paid monthly plan without notifying me. I find this charge unfair, especially since my free trial period was still active and I had fulfilled all required verification steps as a teacher. I tried to submit a refund request and contact the support team both through Gemini and Google channels, but I am unable to open a refund request or reach any representative. This situation has caused me significant hardship. Although I met all the requirements as a teacher, I am requesting that the approximately $26 charged during the free trial period be canceled and fully refunded to me, and that my membership be corrected to reflect the originally promised student/teacher free trial conditions.
